We had a FUN launch party for our walkSTEM community outreach program in the gorgeous setting of KPMG at Hall Arts in the Dallas Arts District! We had a wonderfully diverse group of people attending including educators from charter, private, and public schools, business and industry professionals and more. Everyone came together for a common purpose, which is to talk about STEAM. Our amazing docents led small groups on a “mini walkSTEM experience” at Hall Arts’ beautiful Texas Sculpture Walk.   We were delighted to have many of our sponsors attend:  Baylor Cardiovascular Hospital, Dallas Museum of Art (for Catherine and Will Rose), Fluor, HALL Group, Office of Cultural Affairs (City of Dallas), Texas Instruments, Top Pot.  We are also very grateful to our sponsors who were unable to attend:  Lisa Simmons, NorthPark Center, and the Young Women’s Preparatory Network.  Finally, we greatly appreciate our Research Partner, SMU Simmons.
Although launched on March 14, 2017 – not too long ago – walkSTEM is growing and available in a few different ways:

  1.  Join us on first Saturdays at the Dallas Arts District for a FREE, docent-led experience.  Register:  walkSTEM.org
  2. Join us at ArtROCKS! at NorthPark Center for a docent led experience on select Saturday afternoons.  Register: walkSTEM.org
  3. Enjoy a self guided walkSTEM experience.  Download the FREE Otocast app.  Currently we have 3 walkSTEM experiences up on the app and more will follow.  We encourage summer camps, teachers, families, and anyone interested to use this free service we are thrilled to provide.  Please email us or share photos and video on social media.  We LOVE feedback.
  4. We are piloting after-school walkSTEM experiences for school and camp settings.  Email us if you’d like information.  We’d love to have you join the walkSTEM movement.  You can walkSTEM anywhere!
